SSC joins Daniel Lloyd’s 2021 BTCC campaign ahead of Brands Hatch challenge
Prestige, super and sports car supplier Shaks Specialist Cars Ltd is the latest firm to sign up as an official partner to Daniel Lloyd’s 2021 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship challenge.
The Yorkshire-based outfit specialises in the supply of high-performance vehicles with a focus on cars built for fun, combined with power and beauty. With an extensive stock range personally selected by owner and founder Shak Shah, SSC sources and supplies dream drives from its Huddersfield-centre showroom.
SSC is the latest in a line of companies that have joined forces with ‘local-lad’ Daniel Lloyd for his return to the BTCC grid this year. The 29-year-old has returned to the British series as part of the Adrian Flux with Power Maxed Racing squad after a number of successful seasons competing throughout Europe and Asia.
With a top-five finish and five points-scoring results already under his belt from the opening two race meetings, Lloyd is preparing for the next three rounds on the iconic Brands Hatch Indy circuit this coming weekend (26-27 June) – which will also see him reach his 50th BTCC race start.WATCH BRANDS HATCH LIVE ON ITV3 THIS SUNDAY 11.00-18.25
Daniel Lloyd: “I’m really happy to welcome Shak and the SSC brand on board as a new partner this weekend. It’s the absolute perfect tie-in between high-performance cars and motorsport.
“I’m mega proud to have another local business backing me for my 2021 campaign. After racing in Europe and Asia for the past few years, it’s a huge deal to have such strong support from my hometown. Shak’s approach and energy have helped to really power the SSC brand and business reputation and that’s something that we’re working on building even further in the future. I’m excited to see how we can bring some of the buzz around touring cars into Huddersfield!”
“It’s hard to believe that race two on Sunday will be my 50th BTCC race! It feels as if I’m still one of the new boys in town with this being my first-ever full season. We had a bit of a tricky start to the weekend at Snetterton last time out. However, we’ve worked hard as a team to overcome the issues and I’m confident that we’ll be back on the pace at Brands Hatch this weekend. Points make prizes in the BTCC, and we just need to keep plugging away and racking up the points to stay in the championship fight.
“We’re in a strong position in the Independent Teams’ standings and that’s the focus for the weekend. To maximise our scoring opportunities and extend our lead at the top of the table.
Shak Shah, SSC: “We’re very proud to be backing Daniel on his quest for the BTCC title. It’s great to see a local lad competing at the highest level of British motorsport and his professional approach both on and off the track aligns perfectly with our brand and company values at SSC.
“It’s early days, but the link that we gain to the BTCC, Power Maxed Team and other partners offers up fantastic business opportunities for us. I’m really looking forward to seeing how Daniel gets on this weekend, and where our new partnership leads as the season progresses.”
